Marine Equipment Engineering Design & Finite Element Analysis

Frewer Engineering has a long history of providing consultancy services to the marine industry.

Client case

We performed the structural analysis of a highly advanced jet power all-carbon fibre boat hull, removing a significant amount of weight to meet speed and load carrying demands and a market ready timescale of 6 months. This was achievable as a result of our experience on design & analysis of composite structures, benefiting from crossover technology from aerospace to marine applications.

Our capabilities include:

  • Marine structures engineering consultancy
    • NASTRAN Finite Element Analysis of components
    • Introduction of composite materials into marine applications
    • Non Linear finite element analysis of structures
    • Advanced Vibration analysis (Random Vibration, shock, acoustic etc)
  • Marine gas turbine intakes
    • Design & structural analysis of marine gas turbine intakes
    • Marine gas turbine integration equipment
    • Engine to ship interface equipment
  • Marine composite equipment design
    • Radome cover design – composite materials
    • Antenna design – composite materials
    • Carbon composite ducting
    • Composite structure panels
  • Tooling design
    • 3D CAD design of component manufacturing tooling
