Frewer Engineering provides a creative and advanced design and structural analysis service to the aerospace industry, specialising in lightweight structures and assemblies. Our engineers have considerable experience in the supply of aerospace engineering consultancy across a wide range of requirements from critical class A components to supporting research & development equipment.
Designed a fan blade-off rig in its entirety for an aero engine development, with stretched technology limits due to engine size. End customer required airworthiness approval within 12 months, representing a business critical programme for completion with contractual commitments. Project involved carrying extremely high loads within a lightweight structure, demanding advanced non-linear analysis using our leading finite element software. Delivered on time, on budget.
Launch simulation of carbon structures located in a rocket head to ensure critical operation in space, working in severe acoustic vibration environment with serious fatigue threats. This analysis benefited from our knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques involved, designing the material from scratch. This work allowed the end customer to develop design methods for very large satellite solar arrays to meet the demand of new markets e.g. the latest GPS network satellites.
