Modelling wakes and turbulence is heavily underway in our new CFD division. We now have four engineers capable of CFD analysis with expertise in the following: Turbulence and noise reduction of bodies moving through fluids, fluid structure thermal modelling and much more!

This section of our business is active in the fields of new engine development along with the development of new technologies in the fields of combustion. Designing complex mechanical development equipment is a key part of our business with new team members joining over the coming weeks to respond to customer demands.

Dealing with high loads in an extremely harsh environment that demands minimum weight and maximum reliability is our regular challenge for these large marine defence structures. Dealing with wave motions, impact, hail and shock as well as many other environmental hazards is currently underway.

Matthew has just been appointed as our Divisional Head of Composites & Advanced Structures. Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge from his days at McLaren Formula 1 as a design senior to our marine defence and aerospace composite structures activities. Combining his knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques with the design for manufacture is playing an important role for us.
