Frewer Engineering is an SME formed in 2003 to provide world-class design and analysis consultancy services to customers requiring innovative and creative solutions across a number of challenging industry sectors.
Our History
Initially, our business provided design and analysis of composite satellite structures for the space sector. Since then we have expanded at a steady pace, taking on new team members with a variety of specialisms, allowing us to service a range of major engineering industries.

Frewer Engineering is a key team member in analysis of a world-first product and manufacturing process. Enabling us to supply cutting edge structural analysis to our customer to ensure we stay ahead of the competing market.
Frewer Engineering was selected by North West Aerotooling to conduct all the structural analysis and design work for a new aero engine test-bed Airmeter. Working ‘hand-in-glove’ with Frewer Engineering, NWA was able to manufacture the nearly 2m diameter carbon composite structure to tight specifications imposed by the customer and as Frewer’s design and analysis necessitated. Frewer’s extensive composite knowledge also allowed us to incorporate innovative design features for bonding and securing critically positioned inserts. We look forward to working with Frewer Engineering again on design and build projects in the very near future.
Gibbs engaged Frewer Engineering to conduct vital FEA on the carbon-fibre monocoque composite body structure for the Humdinga” said a Gibbs spokesperson. “It’s a credit to them that they were able to rise to our tight timescales and high standards. The Humdinga is to be in production with licensees in the near future, so Gibbs requires high standards of professionalism and competence, especially with regard to such a vital part of the project. The Humdinga program is inspiring and Gibbs thanks Frewer Engineering for their work.
Frewer Engineering completed concept down selection and subsequent FEED of a 300 tonne weights system to be integrated into our gravity energy storage prototype. They provided a high standard of work in an efficient manner, ultimately allowing us to meet our deadlines. The work included developing designs for the main structure and connection mechanisms, choosing of suitable materials and iterative structural analysis. To complete the puzzle, Frewer then produced a series of process diagrams to show assembly, testing and emergency relief procedures as well as developing initial component drawings for quotation. We look forward to working together again in the future!
Frewer Engineering were contracted to support the delivery of high speed rotating equipment for gas turbine calibration testing. Frewer undertook balancing assessments and stress analysis of the equipment, altering the design to meet the requirements whilst also considering ease of manufacture. Frewer provided a high quality service with quick turnarounds allowing us to meet our delivery for the end customer, we look forward to working with them again in the future!
The turbine modelling and analysis that Frewer Engineering provided was invaluable in ensuring the fast pace of Cobham’s R&D projects, and they have been very responsive to any questions and concerns throughout our time working with them.
