Client Case
Gibbs Humdinga Amphibious Vehicle
We performed structural analysis and optimisation of a carbon-fibre boat hull for an advanced jet powered amphibious vehicle. During the process we efficiently iterated the composite lay-up resulting in a significant weight reduction, allowing the customer to meet speed and load bearing requirements. We delivered the project successfully and efficiently, helping the customer meet their target of a market ready product, accredited for land and sea operation, within 6 months.
Extendable Submarine Masts
We conducted a detailed re-design and analysis for a series of extendable submarine masts, specifying the use of state-of-the-art composite materials and resin systems. Each mast is subjected to extreme marine environments and loading conditions and has to satisfy strict weight and stiffness criteria. Working closely with the customer and assisting them in the selection of a suitably qualified manufacturer, we achieved the design goals and made significant steps forward in terms of operational performance.
