Lead Fluids Engineer

Requirements / Responsibilities:

  • Governance: Supporting governance of fluids and heat-transfer analysis work.
  • Technical Expertise: Fluid/Thermal – Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis.
  • Analysis: CFD methods such as RANS, URANS, DES, LES, multi-phase and multi-physics.
  • Presentation: Lead presenter on structural aspects of internal/external Design Reviews.
  • Design Input: Review support and improvement recommendation.
  • Project management: Including resourcing and work-sharing.
  • Business Development: Lead author of proposals, visits to customer sites and conferences.
  • Technical Reporting: Lead author of technical reports and documentation.
  • Clear written and spoken communication: Direct liaison with customers and suppliers.
  • Mentoring: Coaching of graduates, engineers, lead engineers and consultants.

Lead Structural Engineer

Requirements / Responsibilities:

  • Analysis: Thermal analysis, including thermo-structural interaction modelling methods.
  • Presentation: Lead presenter on structural aspects of internal/external Design Reviews.

  • Project management: Including resourcing and work-sharing.
  • Business Development: Lead author of proposals, visits to customer sites and conferences.
  • Technical Reporting: Lead author of technical reports and documentation.

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Analysis of components and assemblies – linear, non-linear, and thermal analyses.
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Analysis in both 2D and 3D domains.
  • Hand calculations: Supporting analytical models for concept-level analysis and validation.
  • Visiting customer sites: Viewing hardware, and performing sales functions where needed.
  • Academic Requirements: Predicted 1st Class or 2:1 BEng or MEng Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • IT Skills: Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent English, comfortable presenting in-person and virtually.
  • Transport: Full driving license valid in the UK.
