Gas Turbine Testing Equipment

We designed a high-speed rotating assembly for next generation fan blade research, including assessment of bird impact and development of explosive release systems. The project requirements to test high rotational speeds on a new larger fan blade required innovative design and advanced balancing assessments of the blade holder component. We worked closely with the customer to integrate this new design into the existing test facility ensuring the integrity of the full system. The project was delivered on time and to budget, with subsequent successful application of the equipment.

Gas Turbine Pipework System

We designed a pipework system required to duct hot (750°C), high pressure (45 bar) air whilst withstanding extreme vibrations. The work was conducted to the latest pressure equipment standards and involved the assessment of complex displacements, requiring the design of flexible bellows to compensate movements. We delivered a solution within a tight time frame allowing our customer to achieve their engine test targets.
