Latest News August 2019
Read our August newsletter to find out more on our latest developments including industry updates and the addition of new staff!
Our CFD service continues to grow!
We are utilising CFD to assess high temperature and pressure flow around complex geometry for a gas turbine development test rig! The introduction of MATLAB to aid our CFD analysis and post processing is proving to be valuable!
Aero-engine Gas Turbine Development Design Update
Our engineers are highly active in this area working on large scale civil engine development as well as gas turbine combustion development! Our team of engineers with varying backgrounds possess a range of knowledge which is required for these complex projects!
Submersible Marine Structures
Our expertise in composites and fluid structure interaction are proving vital for our work on composite marine structures. Our CFD capabilities coupled with extensive composite design and analysis experience are allowing optimal solutions to be obtained!
New staff – Samuel Hall
Samuel has joined us after obtaining a first class masters degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Surrey, where he was awarded The Hector Wainwright Aerospace MEng prize for the highest final year mark! Samuel conducted a research project in partnership with Rolls-Royce to investigate the heat transfer within an aero-engine rotor-stator cavity, using CFD to generate validated test data. This test data was then used to assess the accuracy of widely used heat transfer correlations. Samuel is a great addition to the team and his CFD experience strengthens our growing CFD service!
New staff – Joseph Broadley
Joseph joins us on a year long placement from the University of Surrey as an undergraduate design engineer. Joseph has very quickly got to grips with our design software and processes and is making vital contributions to our live projects!
