Welcome to the latest Frewer Engineering newsletter.

This month’s edition features our newest member Ian Childs, Frewer at DPRTE, Engineering Chartership and acceptance into the Aurora EDP Network.

We hope you enjoy the read!

Welcoming the Newest Member of the Team

This month, we welcome Ian Childs, who joins us at Frewer Engineering as a Principal Engineer. Ian brings a host of experience across a broad range of engineering disciplines, having delivered projects in the marine, rail, renewables, and oil and gas sectors throughout his career.

Ian supports the assurance and optimisation of complex structures, with his expertise in structural analysis, including stress, fatigue, fracture, and nonlinear response. His knowledge and practical insight further strengthen our technical capability and service offering.

Ian has already begun contributing to our growing project delivery team, and his experience, and considered approach make him a strong addition to the business.

We are pleased to have Ian on the team and look forward to the positive impact he will continue to make.

Exhibiting at DPRTE

Next month, our Managing Director, Richard Lock, will be attending DPRTE to showcase Frewer Engineering’s capabilities. Richard and members of the team will be at the event on 25–26 March, ready to connect with customers and partners across the defence supply chain.

DPRTE provides a valuable forum for defence procurement buyers to meet leading suppliers and explore specialist support. We’ll be highlighting our design and analysis engineering services, and how Frewer Engineering helps organisations tackle complex engineering challenges with offerings from targeted analysis support through to broader programme delivery.

If you’re attending DPRTE and would like to discuss how we can support your business, please reach out to us via LinkedIn, or come and find Richard at our stand M13 (part of the Make UK Defence Pavillion). We look forward to seeing you there.

Celebrating our Engineer’s Achievements

We are delighted to share that one of our Lead Engineers, Kristian Mahon, has been elected as a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

Kristian joined Frewer Engineering in 2019 as an Undergraduate Engineer, and became a full-time Design and Analysis Engineer after graduating from the University of Exeter. During his time with the company, Kristian has delivered a wide range of projects, building the technical capability and professional experience required to achieve this level of recognition.

His progress reflects the continuous professional development we aim to support across Frewer Engineering, and this milestone is a credit to his dedication, capability, and ongoing development. We congratulate Kristian on this achievement and wish him continued success in his role at Frewer Engineering.

Acceptance onto the Aurora EDP Evolve Network

Frewer Engineering is pleased to confirm that we have been accepted as an Associate Provider on the Aurora Engineering Delivery Partnership (EDP) Provider Network – Evolve.

Following a highly competitive refresh, our inclusion recognises the growing strength of our engineering capability and positions us within a network that delivers around 40% of EDP revenue to the MOD.

We achieved Associate status across multiple capability areas aligned to our core strengths in mechanical and aerospace engineering design and analysis. This recognition supports our continued commitment to the UK defence sector and reinforces our focus on delivering trusted, innovative engineering solutions.

We look forward to engaging with the EDP Evolve network throughout 2026 and beyond.
