Frewer Engineering at DSEI 2025

DSEI is a key exhibition in our calendar, creating a forum where industry leaders and technical specialists can come together. For us, it’s the ideal place to highlight emerging technologies, exchange knowledge, and strengthen the partnerships that drive defence innovation.
Frewer Engineering’s senior management will be in attendance, ready to connect, converse and collaborate. With decades of hands-on experience in defence engineering, our team offers unmatched expertise. Our experts can support and advise on complex analysis or modelling services you might need.
At Frewer Engineering, we believe in being both professional and approachable. Our team thrives on supporting defence programmes of every scale, whether large multi-disciplinary efforts or targeted analysis support. We bring enthusiasm, deep technical know-how, and a collaborative spirit to every engagement. If you’re looking for a partner who knows defence and can deliver, please get in touch. We look forward to seeing you there!
Rapid, Reliable Support for Project Success

In today’s fast-paced landscape, a timely and technically sound Critical Design Review (CDR) can make or break a programme. Recently, Frewer Engineering was brought on board at a critical juncture; our client needed extra composite design and analysis expertise to swiftly advance their concept and bring it to CDR readiness. With tight deadlines and high stakes, our team rose to the challenge.
From day one, we embedded ourselves into the client’s project structure, acting not as external consultants but as an extension of their team. Our breadth of expertise allowed us to offer dependable, integrated support across multiple technical fronts.
Joining a project midstream is never easy, but it’s where we excel. If you’re navigating a complex programme with tight timelines, and need a responsive, technically robust partner, Frewer Engineering is here to help.
Celebrating Excellence: Royal Aeronautical Society Templer Award Win

We’re delighted to share that Macsen Iles, who first joined us as a placement student and is now a full-time engineer, has been awarded the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Templer Award. Named after pioneering balloon aviator James Templar, the award recognises distinguished performance on the MEng Aerospace programme at the University of Surrey.
Macsen’s award is the result of consistent excellence throughout his studies. He led the University of Surrey’s IMechE UAS Challenge team lovingly named “Flamingo”, producing their lightest aircraft ever, capable of carrying a 4.7 kg payload while remaining under a 10 kg maximum take-off mass. His approach demonstrated both creativity and rigour, as he studied avian tails using motion-capture techniques and a biomimetic robot inspired by the common swift. Macsen’s achievements from placement to professional life clearly mark him out as an exceptional engineer, and no doubt explain why he was recognised with this prestigious award.
At Frewer Engineering, we are incredibly proud to see Macsen’s talents acknowledged at such a high level. His journey reflects the value of our placement scheme and our commitment to supporting young engineers as they transition into professional roles.
Applications for our 2026/2027 cohort of placements will open soon.
